This is my fandom journal. In it you will find recommendations for fanfiction, and also the occasional book or movie rec. You can find more fanfiction recs on my delicious page, IsoldaM's Bookmarks. I read gen, slash and het fanfiction, so be sure to pay attention to the tags so that you can avoid anything that you object to.

gen = general, not a romance story.

het = main romantic pairing is male/female.

slash = main romantic pairing is same sex, usually male/male.

My main fandoms are: Merlin, Supernatural, Star Trek (2009 movie), X-Men (Gambit) and White Collar. You'll find recs for several other fandoms as well.

I make this soup a lot in the winter. It great on a cold day with crusty Italian or French bread and cheese. This makes a very large amount. I'm not sure exactly how much, but I use an 8 quart pot to make it in and it almost fills the pot - so at least 5 or 6 quarts. You can freeze the leftovers if you like.

I've fallen in love the USA network show "White Collar". Ok, mostly with its main character, gentleman thief/con artist/forger Neal Caffrey. Neal is smart, and Peter Burke, the FBI agent who caught Neal and put him in prison, likes smart. The only person Peter knows who is smarter is Peter's wife, Elizabeth. Some of these fics are explicit, so please mind the ratings.

Why I'm recommending this fic: I generally don't care much for modern AU's because most of the ones that I've read seem to be more about who is sleeping with whom than destiny and the mythic grandeur that I associate with Arthurian legend. This modern AU is all about destiny and has plenty of mythic grandeur. It's set in a modern world that is not our modern world. The world building is superb and the characters are spot on. This really is a wonderful story.
